Consent to assess application cut-off dates for 2022

Providers seeking consent to assess for unit standard delivery ready for semester one of 2023, please submit the application to Toi Mai by 30 October 2022.

Due to high demand, applications received after this date will not have a guaranteed turnaround time of 20-working days and will be processed when possible.

Toi Mai will support consent to assess applications where they are the standard setting body.

Providers (including schools) must apply to NZQA for consent to assess any unit standards they intend to assess, and meet the requirements of the appropriate Consent and Moderation Requirements.

As part of the NZQA application process, providers will need to supply a letter of support from the relevant Workforce Development Council. This letter attests that the provider meets the specific industry requirements, including having the resources to effectively deliver and assess the unit standard(s).

How to apply

Providers can access an application form for Toi Mai support for consent to assess here. Please email the completed form to moderation@toimai.nz

Please note that NZQA makes the final decision on the consent to assess application, and the process is not completed until NZQA has granted consent to assess to the applicant organisation.  For more information on the NZQA process, please refer to the website.

Consent to Assess for Waka Ama

We have developed a dedicated application form for the two Waka Ama unit standards 30810 and 30811 for schools/kura to use when applying for these unit standards.  The application can be found by clicking this link here. Hopefully this form will make the process easier as these applications are different because sometimes Waka Ama clubs are used to provide resources, however if you have any questions or need further support please email the Moderation Team at Toi Mai on moderation@toimai.nz or you can call us on 04 909 0316.
